(Holmsk.) Olariaga

Study description
Lignicolous species fruiting on decaying wood or fallen branches on the ground, large in size considering the genus, with horn-shaped, sinuous, deformed fruit bodies, ochre to cream, with a smooth surface corresponding to the hymenium, without a differentiated stipe, and without distinct odour or taste.
Context and supporting hyphae corresponding to a monomitic hyphal system, with only cylindrical, hyaline, thin-walled generative hyphae, 4 to 10 µm wide, septate with clamp connections at the septa.
Without cystidia.
Basidia clavate, 30 to 35 µm long by 5 to 7 µm wide, with basal clamp connections and generally tetrasporic.
Spores ellipsoidal to slightly fusiform, with a more pointed end where a distinct apiculus is located, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 12 to 18 µm long by 6 to 8.5 µm wide, with oil drops of varying sizes inside, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
