Tricholomopsis rutilans
(Schaeff.) Singer

Study description
Species typical of conifer stumps, such as pines or firs, with a convex to flattened cap, 4 to 10 cm in diameter, with a slightly scaly vinaceous-red surface, adnate to slightly emarginate yellow gills, a reddish cylindrical stipe, without distinct odour, and with a nutty, slightly bitter taste.
Filamentous cuticle composed of cylindrical hyphae arranged more or less parallel, 5 to 15 µm wide, with abundant reddish-brown encrusting pigment inside, with emergent endings with a rounded apex, all septate with clamp connections at the septa.
Cheilocystidia very abundant, large, cylindric-clavate to fusiform, hyaline, 45 to 100 µm long by 10 to 18 µm wide.
Without pleurocystidia.
Lamellar trama regular or parallel.
Basidia cylindric-clavate, 30 to 40 µm long by 5 to 7 µm wide, with basal clamp connections and tetrasporic.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 7 to 8.5 µm long by 4 to 6 µm wide, with a discreet eccentric apiculus at one end, with oil drops of varying sizes inside, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
