Study description

Under broadleaf trees or conifers, with a conical-convex to flattened cap, with a wavy margin, 4 to 9 cm in diameter, with a surface bearing greyish-brown radial fibrils over an olive-yellow background, adnate white to cream gills, a whitish cylindrical stipe with some greenish-yellow tints, a mealy odour, and an also mealy, slightly bitter taste.

Filamentous cuticle formed by a layer of cylindrical hyphae arranged more or less parallel, 3 to 6 µm wide, with yellowish pigment inside, and beneath this layer broader, hyaline hyphae, up to 12 µm thick, all septate with simple septa (without clamp connections).

Without cystidia, but with some polymorphic to sinuous terminal cells.

Lamellar trama regular or parallel.

Basidia clavate, 25 to 40 µm long by 8 to 10 µm wide, with a simple base (not clamped), and tetrasporic.

Spores subglobose to short ellipsoidal, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, with a distinct apiculus at one end, 5 to 7 µm long by 4.5 to 6 µm wide, generally with a thick oil or lipid drop inside, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
