A species associated with larches (Larix), with a convex to flattened cap, 4 to 10 cm in diameter, viscid orange-yellow surface, yellowish to cinnamon pores, a cylindrical stipe with an annular zone at the apex, with cinnamon scales over a pale yellow background, almost forming a reticulum, with a fungal odour and sweet taste.
Pileipellis composed of filamentous, cylindrical, interwoven hyphae, 2 to 6 µm wide, the superficial ones widely separated by gelatinisation, with faint brown intracellular pigment, septate and without clamp connections.
Caulocystidia scattered at the stipe apex, cylindrical to fusiform, septate and containing brown pigment inside.
Cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia cylindrical to fusiform, 30 to 45 µm long, 5 to 7 µm wide, with faint yellowish contents inside.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 20 to 25 µm long, 5 to 7 µm wide, with a simple base, 2- or 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal to cylindrical, smooth, thick-walled, pale greenish-brown under the microscope, 7.5 to 10 µm long, 3 to 4 µm wide, with an indistinct eccentric apiculus at one end, containing oil droplets (guttules) inside.
