Study description
A species associated with pines on calcareous soils, with a convex to flattened cap, 7 to 11 cm in diameter, sticky chestnut-brown surface, yellow pores, a cylindrical yellowish stipe with brownish punctation and pinkish mycelial cords at the base, without distinctive odour and sweet in taste.
Filamentous pileipellis, composed of hyphae arranged more or less parallel, 4 to 7 µm wide, with encrusting brown intracellular pigment, widely spaced from each other by gelatinisation, septate and with simple septa (clamps absent).
Caulocystidia present at the stipe apex, cylindrical, arranged in bundles and with rounded tips.
Cheilocystidia clavate, 35 to 55 µm long, 6 to 10 µm wide, with yellowish-brown pigment inside.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 20 to 30 µm long, 5 to 6 µm wide, with a simple base, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, thick-walled, pale yellow under the microscope, 8 to 10 µm long, 3.5 to 4.5 µm wide, with an eccentric apiculus at one end, and containing abundant oil droplets of various sizes inside.
