(Schaeff.) Maire

Study description
Under broadleaved trees in riparian zones on decaying litter or wood on the ground, with a conical-convex to flattened pileus 2 to 6 cm across, hygrophanous, orange-brown to greyish-brown with whitish veil remnants, adnate to slightly decurrent cream to purplish-brown lamellae, and a cylindrical, fragile, whitish to cream stipe.
Pileipellis composed of subglobose, pyriform to vesiculose cells 30 to 50 µm long and 20 to 30 µm wide, clampless.
Cheilocystidia utriform, clavate to lageniform, 25 to 45 µm long and 14 to 20 µm wide, interspersed with numerous sterile pyriform cells.
Pleurocystidia clavate to utriform, 35 to 50 µm long and 10 to 18 µm wide.
Basidia clavate, 18 to 25 µm long, 7 to 9 µm wide, clamped at the base, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, slightly thick-walled, orange-brown under the microscope, 8 to 10 µm long, 4 to 5.5 µm wide, with an almost imperceptible eccentric apiculus at one pole and an evident germ pore at the opposite pole.
Herbarium material available: JTP2149/24 and JTP2349/24.
