(Pers.) P.Kumm.

Study description
Common species found under both conifers and broadleaf trees among needles and leaf litter, with a convex to flattened pileus of considerable size (2–5 cm across), pinkish to violet with a whitish margin, adnate to emarginate lamellae, a cylindrical, hollow violet stipe, an odour of raw potato, and a raphanoid taste.
Cuticle (pileipellis) formed by parallel, smooth hyphae 3–9 µm wide, slightly separated by gelification, septate and with clamped septa.
Cheilocystidia very abundant, rendering the lamellar edge practically sterile, fusiform, subcylindrical, ventricose, measuring 30–75 µm long by 10–18 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia scattered, similar in morphology and dimensions to cheilocystidia.
Basidia clavate, 25–30 µm long by 5–8 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal to oblong, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, measuring 5.5–7.5 µm long by 3.3–4.2 µm wide, with a very discreet apiculus at one end, containing oil droplets (guttules) inside, amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
