Study description
Common species growing in fairy rings among grass in pastures or meadows, with a convex to flattened pileus 2–4 cm across, ochre-orange, distant lamellae, a cylindrical stipe highly resistant to twisting, a pleasant fungal odour, and a sweet taste.
Hymeniform suprapellis, composed of hyaline, clavate hyphae measuring 10–15 µm long by 5–7 µm wide, underlain by hyaline, densely interwoven, septate, and clamped filamentous hyphae.
Caulocystidia abundant, cylindrical, sinuous, moderately thick-walled, measuring 35–50 µm long by 6–8 µm wide, with rounded apices.
Lamellar edge fertile, without differentiated sterile elements other than basidia or basidioles.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 40–50 µm long by 5–8 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal to amygdaliform, with a curved end where the apiculus is located, measuring 6.5–10 µm long by 4.5–6 µm wide, containing oil guttules of varying sizes inside.
