Marasmiellus candidus
(Fr.) Singer

Study description
General: Pure white saprotrophic agaric on small fallen twigs and herbaceous debris, pileus 0.7-2.5 cm diam., stipe concolorous up to 3 cm, lamellae pure white, distant and strongly interconnected by anastomosing veins.
Pileipellis: Cutis of filamentous hyphae 3-7 µm wide, with cylindrical, fusiform to lageniform terminal elements up to 60 x 8 µm, all septate with large clamp connections.
Cheilocystidia: Abundant, filiform to slightly lageniform, hyaline, thin-walled, 60-100 x 4-8 µm.
Pleurocystidia: Absent.
Basidia: Clavate, 25-45 x 8-12 µm, with basal clamp connections, 4-spored.
Spores: Subcylindrical to subfusiform, slightly allantoid, pointed at apicular pole, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 13-19 x 4-6 µm, containing oil droplets.
