(Schumach.) Singer

Study description
General: Autumnal species featuring a lilac-blue pileus and stipe with violaceous shades, occurring in pastures, forest margins, and parks, of smaller and more slender stature than Lepista nuda.
Pileipellis: Cutis composed of irregularly interwoven hyaline hyphae 2-8 µm wide, branched, septate with clamp connections.
Lamellar edge: Fertile, lacking differentiated cystidia.
Basidia: Clavate, 28-47 x 7-9 µm, with basal clamp connections, 4-spored.
Spores: Ellipsoid, thin-walled, finely verruculose, 6-8 x 4-5 µm, with an inconspicuous slightly eccentric apiculus, containing a large oil guttule, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
