Lepista panaeolus
(Fr.) P.Karst.

Study description
General: Inhabiting pastures or open forest clearings, pileus greyish-brown with darker guttate spots arranged more or less concentrically, odor farinaceous, taste mild to slightly peppery.
Pileipellis: Cutis of cylindrical hyphae 3.5-5 µm wide, arranged parallel to slightly interwoven, with abundant brown intracellular pigment, septate with clamp connections.
Lamellar edge: Fertile, without differentiated cystidia.
Basidia: Clavate, 20-30 x 6-8 µm, with basal clamp connections, predominantly 4-spored.
Spores: Ellipsoid, thin-walled, strongly verrucose, hyaline, 4-5.5 x 3-4 µm, with an eccentric apiculus, containing lipid droplets, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Herbarium voucher: JTP2234/24.
