Study description

A species with a conical to slightly umbonate cap, greyish-white with a slightly darker center, stipe slightly widened at the base (non-bulbous), and caulocystidia restricted to the upper stipe.

Pileipellis filamentous, composed of hyaline hyphae arranged more or less parallelly, 5-9 µm wide, without incrustations, septate and clamped.

Caulocystidia present only on the upper stipe, similar in morphology to cheilocystidia.

Cheilocystidia lageniform to fusiform, 35-65 µm long and 10-20 µm wide, with walls up to 2 µm thick, bearing apical crystallizations, intermixed with shorter clavate to pyriform cells.

Pleurocystidia scattered, very similar in morphology and dimensions to cheilocystidia.

Basidia clavate, 18-30 µm long and 8-10 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.

Spores ellipsoidal to oblong, smooth- and thick-walled, yellowish-brown under the microscope, with an eccentric apiculus at one end and internal oil droplets.
