Study description
A yellowish species with large, unbranched, hanging spine-like spines.
Monomitic hyphal system, with hyaline hyphae varying from thin- to thick-walled, 4-15 µm wide, septate and clamped.
Gloeocystidia present in the hymenium, cylindrical, sinuous: those in the hymenial trama reaching up to 140 µm long, 7-10 µm wide with inflations exceeding 20 µm; hymenial gloeocystidia shorter, morphologically identical to tramal ones, but up to only 70 µm long.
Basidia clavate, 25-35 µm long and 6-8 µm wide, with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores subglobose to ovoid, thick-walled and very delicately verruculose, with an almost imperceptible apiculus at one end, a large internal oil droplet, distinctly amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Herbarium material available: JTP2340/25.
