In meadows or pastures, on cow or horse dung, with a hemispherical to convex-flattened pileus, 1 to 2 cm in diameter, brown, darker at the center, adnate lamellae, white to violaceous brown with sporulation, a cylindrical, hollow stipe, brownish with whitish fibrils, with a faint but pleasant odor, and a herbaceous taste.

Cuticle formed by an upper layer of filamentous hyphae, arranged parallel to slightly interwoven, 2 to 5 µm in diameter, with encrusting brownish intracellular pigment, with some branchings, and beneath these wider hyphae, up to 20 µm wide, with short septa, and partially clamped.

Cheilocystidia cylindrical to lageniform, 15 to 35 µm long and 6 to 8 µm wide.

Pleurocystidia absent.

Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 20 to 28 µm long, 8 to 12 µm wide, partially clamped and four-spored.

Spores ellipsoidal to rhomboid or hexagonal in frontal view, smooth, thick-walled, dark brown under the microscope, 10 to 14 µm long, 6 to 8.5 µm wide, with a discreet hyaline apiculus at one end, and a prominent germ pore at the opposite end.
