Cordyceps militaris
(L.) Fr.

Study description
Perithecia very abundant, immersed over the entire surface of the stroma.
Perithecial wall hyphae filiform, septate, weakly pigmented and of textura intricata.
Inside the perithecia are cylindrical, very elongated, 8-spored asci.
No paraphyses were observed, thus considering the species devoid of them.
Ascospores filiform, acicular, well exceeding 300 µm in length, breaking up into small segments (part-spores/secondary spores); the measurements indicated in this sheet correspond to these fragments.
