Clathrus ruber
P.Micheli ex Pers.

Study description
Receptacle hyphae cellular (pseudoparenchymatous), composed of globose hyphae (sphaerocysts) to slightly angular due to mutual compression, of considerable dimensions, hyaline and thin-walled.
Basidia difficult to observe as they are very ephemeral and disintegrate with development; these basidia are cylindrical-clavate and predominantly 6-spored according to the literature.
Spores cylindrical-ellipsoidal, fairly elongated, smooth, thin-walled, with minute oil droplets scattered inside.
Herbarium material available: JTP2726/26.
