Asterophora lycoperdoides
(Bull.) Ditmar

Study description
Hyphal system monomitic, with a trama composed solely of generative hyphae, hyaline, arranged in parallel and clamped.
In the cuticle, a large mass of chlamydospores is formed, conical-tuberculate, with coarse star-like spines/teeth and of considerable size.
Basidia very difficult to observe and scarcely functional.
Although basidiospores could not be observed, according to literature they should be ellipsoidal and small, cited by authors as 3–6 x 2–4 µm.
Herbarium material available: JTP2287/24.
