(Bull.) P.Karst.

Study description
A species typical of dung of various domestic herbivores such as cows or horses. Belonging to a genus with several fimicolous species, key features include its typical reddish-brown color, marginate-striate cap, absence of a ring, and scarce or absent veil remnants at maturity.
Regarding spore morphology, it possesses subhexagonal spores in face view of violaceous color.
The microscopic images are from a collection made in May on cow dung in the locality of Orduña (Bizkaia). We have also studied it on two other occasions from collections in Busturia (Bizkaia) and Aiara (Álava) in January and June, respectively.
