Clavulinopsis luteoalba
(Rea) Corner

Study description
Clavulinopsis luteoalba is a striking yellow species that typically fruits in tufts in mossy areas of meadows or forests.
Macroscopically indistinguishable from congeners such as helvola or laeticolor; however, microscopic differences in spore morphology separate them easily.
Adult specimens often have a whitish tip, hence the specific epithet luteoalba.
The microscopic captures of this study are from two collections in coniferous plantations: one in Areatza (Bizkaia) in August in a humid area under Chamaecyparis lawsoniana; the other in a plantation of Cupressus sempervirens in Amurrio (Álava) in January. An additional macroscopic photograph is included from a collection in Erandio (Bizkaia) in a mown meadow in November.
