Volvariella pusilla
(Pers.) Singer

Study description
Growing on soil humus among grass, with a hemispherical to convex cap, 1 to 2.5 cm in diameter, pure white, with free gills white to pink due to sporulation, a white cylindrical stipe with a membranous basal volva, without distinct odour, and with a mild (insipid) taste.
Filamentous cuticle formed by hyphae arranged parallel, hyaline, thin-walled, 5 to 10 µm wide, septate with simple septa.
Cheilocystidia fusiform to lageniform, 40 to 75 µm long by 15 to 25 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia scattered, with morphology and measurements very similar to those of the cheilocystidia.
Basidia cylindrical to clavate, 25 to 35 µm long by 7 to 9 µm wide, with a simple base and tetrasporic.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, thick-walled, pale yellow under the microscope, with a barely perceptible apiculus at one end, 5.5 to 6.5 µm long by 4 to 5 µm wide, with very slight granular content inside, and without reaction in Melzer's reagent (inamyloid).
