Study description
On decaying plant debris on the ground, with a convex to flattened cap, 3 to 5 cm in diameter, surface with greyish-beige radial fibrils, free pink gills due to sporulation, a cylindrical stipe with a basal volva, a geranium odour, and a sweet taste.
Filamentous cuticle formed by hyphae arranged parallel, 10 to 20 µm wide, with a light greyish-brown pigment inside, septate with simple septa (without clamp connections).
Cheilocystidia fusiform to clavate, 50 to 120 µm long by 15 to 35 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia scattered, fusiform to lageniform, 50 to 100 µm long by 20 to 40 µm wide.
Basidia subcylindrical to clavate, ventricose, 15 to 25 µm long by 8 to 10 µm wide, with a simple base and tetrasporic.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, thick-walled, with a small apiculus at one end, very pale yellow under the microscope, 6.5 to 8 µm long by 4 to 5 µm wide, with small vacuoles inside, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
