Species typical of deciduous woods, on humus or plant debris on the ground, with a convex to flattened cap, 1 to 3 cm in diameter, with a smooth cream to reddish-brown surface, adnate cream to brown gills, a cylindrical stipe with whitish longitudinal fibrils, without distinct odour, and with a sweet taste.
Filamentous cuticle formed by cylindrical hyphae arranged more or less parallel, 4 to 10 µm wide, with an encrusting brown intracellular pigment, septate with clamp connections.
Cheilocystidia sinuous, cylindrical to sublageniform, slightly capitate, 35 to 55 µm long by 5 to 9 µm wide.
Without pleurocystidia.
Lamellar trama parallel, with hyphae 10 to 25 µm wide.
Basidia subcylindrical to clavate, 20 to 25 µm long by 6 to 9 µm wide, with basal clamp connections and tetrasporic.
Spores cylindric-ellipsoidal, smooth, hyaline, pale yellow under the microscope, with a poorly prominent eccentric apiculus at one end, 6.5 to 8 µm long by 4 to 5.5 µm wide, with oil drops of varying sizes inside, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
