Trichaptum abietinum
(Pers. ex J.F.Gmel.) Ryvarden

Study description
On dead decaying wood or bark on the ground of conifers, with resupinate to effused-reflexed basidiocarps, with a hirsute, smooth greyish-white upper surface, purple hymenium, 4 to 6 angular pores per mm, tubes up to 1.5 mm long, and concolorous margin.
Dimitic hyphal system, with thick-walled hyaline skeletal hyphae, simple or sparsely branched, 2.5 to 5 µm wide, aseptate; and thin-walled hyaline generative hyphae, sparsely branched, 2 to 4 µm wide, septate and with clamp connections.
Cystidia abundant, cylindrical, generally with apical encrustations, 25 to 30 µm long, 3 to 6 µm wide, projecting above the level of the basidia.
Basidia clavate, short, 15 to 20 µm long, 5 to 6 µm wide, with basal clamp connections, 4-spored.
Spores cylindrical to slightly allantoid, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, with an eccentric apiculus at one end, 6.5 to 8.5 µm long, 2 to 3 µm wide, with granular contents inside, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
