Study description
On decaying stromata of Diatrype or Eutypella, preferably on fallen branches of oak or chestnut, with irregular, cerebriform fruit bodies, 2 to 5 cm in diameter, undulating surface, whitish to pale ochre, and soft, gelatinous context.
Context hyphae thin-walled, branched, 1.5 to 4 µm wide, generally with granular contents inside, septate and with clamp connections.
Hymenium with septate hyphae lacking clamp connections, producing catenulate (chain-like) conidia, ellipsoid, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, with a slightly pointed end.
Hypobasidia subglobose, longitudinally septate, 12 to 16 µm long, 11 to 13 µm wide, with 4 long, stout sterigmata.
Spores globose to subglobose, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, with a nearly imperceptible apiculus at one end, 7 to 9.5 µm long, 6.5 to 9 µm wide, with faint granular contents inside.
