Trechispora farinacea
(Pers.) Liberta

Study description
On decaying dead wood on the ground, both broadleaf trees and conifers, with completely resupinate basidiomes, tightly adhering to the substrate, slightly granular surface becoming warty to echinulate with age, white to cream, and a diffuse, fibrous white growing margin.
Monomitic hyphal system, with only thin- to slightly thick-walled hyaline generative hyphae, 2 to 3.5 µm wide, septate, with slight swellings at the septa and prominent clamp connections (ampullate septa).
Tips of the aculei with terminal hyphae arranged parallel to each other, with rounded apices, serving as support for the basidia.
Without cystidia.
Basidia cylindric-clavate, 12 to 15 µm long, 4 to 6 µm wide, with basal clamp connections and two or four sterigmata (2- or 4-spored).
Spores ellipsoid, hyaline, echinulate, 3.5 to 4 µm long, 2 to 3 µm wide, with a faint apiculus at one end, containing one or several oil droplets (guttules) inside, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
