Study description
On dead decaying wood or bark on the ground, with resupinate basidiomes up to 0.3 mm thick, easily separable from the substrate, with a slightly granular and discontinuous surface, greyish-brown with purple hues, and without a differentiated growing margin.
Subicular hyphae thick-walled, 3 to 8 µm wide, with brownish intracellular pigment, branched, encrusted on their surface, septate, with clamp connections.
Subhymenial hyphae thin- to slightly thick-walled, hyaline or with only faint ochraceous pigment inside, 2.5 to 5 µm wide, septate, with clamp connections.
Without cystidia, but with some cystidiolum-like elements projecting slightly above the level of the basidia.
Basidia subcylindrical to urniform, 25 to 40 µm long, 7 to 9 µm wide, with basal clamp connections, 4-spored.
Spores globose to subglobose, echinulate, pale ochraceous-brown under the microscope, 6 to 8 µm long, 6 to 7.5 µm wide, ornamented with short spines 0.5 to 1 µm high, with a prominent apiculus, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Herbarium material available: JTP2400/25.
