Study description
On dead decaying wood on the ground, with completely resupinate basidiocarps, tightly adhering to the substrate, smooth to slightly granular surface, dark grey to brown, with a slightly paler arachnoid subiculum and an indeterminate, diffuse growing margin.
Subicular hyphae thick-walled, 5 to 8 µm wide, with some swellings at the septa up to 10 µm, pale brown pigment inside, entire surface completely encrusted, septate, with clamped septa.
Subhymenial hyphae thin- to slightly thick-walled, smooth or only slightly encrusted, 3 to 6 µm wide, hyaline or with faint brownish intracellular pigment, septate, with clamp connections.
Without cystidia.
Basidia subcylindrical to slightly clavate, 55 to 75 µm long, maximum width 8 to 10 µm, with basal clamp connections, 4-spored.
Spores globose to subglobose, echinulate, brown under the microscope in water, 8 to 11 µm long, 7.5 to 10 µm wide, with isolated spines 1 to 2 µm high, a prominent apiculus at one end, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
