On decaying dead wood or bark on the ground, with completely resupinate basidiomes, easily separable from the substrate, granulose to fibrillose surface, greyish-brown, with a diffuse and whitish growing margin.
Monomitic hyphal system with thin- to moderately thick-walled subicular hyphae, 3 to 5 µm wide, with brown pigment inside, septate and with clamp connections.
Subhymenial hyphae hyaline, 2.5 to 5 µm wide, profusely branched, septate, and like the subicular hyphae, with clamp connections.
Without cystidia.
Basidia subcylindrical to clavate, often sinuous, 20 to 35 µm long, 5 to 7 µm wide, sterigmata up to 8 µm, with basal clamp connections, 4-spored.
Spores globose to subglobose, moderately thick-walled, brown under the microscope, echinulate, 7 to 8 µm long excluding ornamentation, 6.5 to 7.5 µm wide, with spines 0.5 to 1.5 µm high, uniformly arranged over the entire surface, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
