(Schaeff.) Pers.

Study description
Under conifers, growing solitarily or in small groups, with basidiomes forming several overlapping rosettes, up to 4 cm in height, brown with purplish-violet tones, whitish margins, a short central purplish stipe, without distinct odor, and mild taste (nothing distinctive).
Monomitic hyphal system, composed of thin- to thick-walled filamentous hyphae, slightly interwoven, 3 to 8 µm wide, often with brownish intracellular pigment, septate and with clamp connections.
Without cystidia clearly differentiated from basidia, but with hair-like terminal elements in the hymenium, cylindrical, sinuous, with rounded tips, narrower than basidia.
Basidia cylindric-clavate, 45 to 80 µm long, 8 to 12 µm wide, with basal clamp connections, mostly 4-spored, though occasionally with some 2-spored basidia.
Spores ellipsoid, very irregular, angular to nodulose, thick-walled and warty, with spine-like warts up to 1.5 µm high, 6.5 to 8.5 µm long excluding ornamentation, 4.5 to 6.5 µm wide, containing one or several oil or lipid droplets inside, golden yellow in Melzer's reagent (inamyloid).
