(Bull.) Gillet

Microscopía de Stropharia melanosperma

Study description

A species typical of meadows and pastures among grasses, with a convex to flattened cap, 3 to 5 cm in diameter, whitish, slightly yellowish in the centre, adnate gills, white to violet from the effect of sporulation, a cylindrical stipe with a pendulous membranous ring, without distinct odour and sweet in taste.

Pileipellis composed of filamentous, interwoven hyphae, hyaline, 2 to 5 µm wide, septate and partially clamped.

Cheilocystidia fusiform to clavate, often with an apical neck, 30 to 45 µm long and 10 to 15 µm wide.

Pleurocystidia similar, with comparable dimensions, but strictly fusiform.

Basidia cylindrical, 25 to 30 µm long, 8 to 10 µm wide, with a simple base, 4-spored.

Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, thick-walled, dark brown under the microscope, 11 to 13 µm long, 6 to 7.5 µm wide, with a minute apiculus at one end and a very prominent germ pore at the opposite end.
