(Kühner & Romagn. ex Hora) Singer

Study description
On buried cones of Pinus, preferably Pinus mugo, with convex to flattened caps, 1 to 2.5 cm in diameter, white gills, adnate to almost free, a cylindrical, smooth, yellowish-ochraceous stipe, often covered with whitish pruina, with a faint fungal odour and mild taste.
Cellular pileipellis composed of a superficial layer of pyriform to clavate hyphae, thick-walled, 20 to 30 µm long and 10 to 20 µm wide.
Caulocystidia subulate, with a broad base, occasionally capitate, 30 to 50 µm long and 6 to 12 µm wide at the base.
Cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia clavate (stephanocyst-like), thick-walled, 40 to 50 µm long, 15 to 25 µm wide, and with abundant apical encrustations.
Lamellar trama regular or parallel.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 18 to 24 µm long, 3 to 5 µm wide, with a simple base, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 6.5 to 8 µm long, 3 to 4 µm wide, with an eccentric apiculus at one end, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
