Stemonitopsis typhina
(F.H.Wigg.) Nann.-Bremek., 1975

Study description
On decaying dead wood on the ground, with stalked sporocarps grouped in small colonies, 3 to 5 mm in total height, with a cylindrical dark silvery-grey sporotheca 1.5 to 3 mm long, with a long stipe featuring a pale silvery-grey superficial sheath over a black core, occupying nearly half of the total sporocarp height.
Columella tapering progressively, reaching nearly to the apex of the sporotheca.
Capillitium dark brown, with stout branches arising from the columella, progressively branching and anastomosing to produce a surface net of fragmented meshes with some free ends.
Spores globose, greyish-brown under the microscope, 6 to 7 µm in diameter, very finely verrucose, with clusters of darker warts.
