Study description
On decaying wood on the ground, with stalked sporocarps grouped in small colonies, 2 to 3 mm in total height, with a cylindrical, reddish-brown sporotheca 1.5 to 2.5 mm long, up to 0.2 mm wide, and with an opaque, relatively short black stipe occupying up to 20 to 30% of the total sporocarp height.
Columella very dark brown, virtually black, tapering progressively to reach the apex of the sporotheca.
Capillitium brown, with filaments arising along the columella, bifurcate and anastomosing, forming an internal net of wide meshes and a very irregular surface net of finer meshes with numerous free ends.
Spores globose, greyish-brown under the microscope, 7 to 8 µm in diameter, ornamented with spines up to 0.8 µm high that join together to form a very irregular and incomplete reticulum.
