An uncommon species associated with conifers, with stipitate basidiomes; pileus applanate to infundibuliform with an undulate margin, 1 to 2.5 cm across, white to slightly ochre, slightly velvety surface; hymenium with white decurrent spines; stipe whitish to ochre, cylindrical, slightly enlarged at the base.
Cuticle formed by cylindrical, hyaline, slightly thick-walled hyphae, interwoven, 2 to 5 µm wide; subhymenial hyphae containing minute oil droplets; all septate with clamp connections difficult to observe.
Terminal hyphae at the spine tips arranged parallel, cylindrical, 4 to 5 µm wide with rounded apices.
Cystidia and other sterile hymenial elements absent.
