(P.D.Orton) Singer

Study description
On decaying dead wood of broadleaves, with a convex to applanate pileus 1.5 to 4 cm in diameter, sepia brown to dark brown; adnate brown lamellae; a cylindrical, curved stipe, pale brown with whitish fibrils; fungal odor and mild taste.
Cuticle formed by cylindrical, thin-walled filamentous hyphae arranged parallel, 4 to 15 µm wide, with encrusting yellowish intracellular pigment, with numerous emergent terminal elements acting as pileocystidia arranged in a palisade, more abundant at the center of the pileus, 40 to 70 µm long and 9 to 15 µm wide; all septate and clamped.
Caulocystidia present at the apex of the stipe, subcylindrical to slightly fusiform, septate and clamped.
Cheilocystidia sinuous, clavate, mostly capitate, 45 to 75 µm long and 7 to 15 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia absent.
Basidia clavate, 25 to 30 µm long, 8 to 10 µm wide, with basal clamp connections and four-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal to phaseoliform (bean-shaped), smooth, thick-walled, 7.5 to 9.5 µm long, 4.5 to 5.5 µm wide, with an inconspicuous apiculus at one end, containing oil droplets of varying size inside, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
