Scytinostroma hemidichophyticum
Pouzar

Study description
On decaying oak wood on the ground, thin, whitish to pale cream with a poorly differentiated, slightly diffuse growing margin; smooth surface cracking upon drying, turning noticeably brown within one minute upon KOH application.
Contextual hyphae closely interwoven and difficult to separate, very thin (only 1.3 to 2.2 µm wide), with abundant branched terminations and apparently without clamp connections.
Hymenium with very few elements differentiated from basidia or basidioles, only a few terminal hyphae that may correspond to small cystidioles.
Basidia deeply embedded in the hymenium and difficult to observe, 25 to 35 µm long, 5 to 6 µm wide, simple-based, bearing two to four sterigmata (two- or four-spored).
Spores virtually spherical, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 5 to 7 µm long, 5 to 6.5 µm wide, containing one or more oil droplets inside, with a very discreet apiculus at one end, and clearly amyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Herbarium material available: JTP2063/24.
