(Velen.) Svrček

Study description
On very damp decaying ground wood, with sessile, disc-shaped apothecia 0.5 to 1.8 cm across, orange, with the margin fringed with brown hairs.
Marginal hairs septate, thick-walled, brown with a slightly paler apex, with a multifurcate base, 0.6 to 1.4 mm long and 20 to 33 µm wide at the base.
Medullary excipulum of textura intricata, formed by interwoven cylindrical hyphae 8 to 15 µm wide.
Ectal excipulum of textura globulosa, formed by subglobose to angular hyphae with brownish intracellular pigment, 40 to 75 µm long and 20 to 55 µm wide.
Asci cylindrical, eight-spored, operculate, 235 to 300 µm long, 15 to 21 µm wide, with uniseriate spore arrangement, basal croziers, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Paraphyses cylindrical, septate, 3 to 4 µm wide, with apical enlargements of 7 to 12 µm, containing abundant orange pigment inside, not projecting above the asci.
Ascospores ellipsoidal, hyaline, with warts up to 0.5 µm high, 20 to 23.5 µm long, 13 to 16.5 µm wide, containing abundant guttules inside, surface covered with warts coalescing into short ridges, visible only in lactophenol cotton blue.
