Study description
On decorticated decaying ground wood, with resupinate basidiomes, pale yellowish, smooth to slightly velvety surface, with a whitish, slightly pilose growing margin, and a membranaceous to waxy texture.
Hyphal system monomitic, with subhymenial hyphae cylindrical, hyaline, thin-walled, densely compacted, 2.5 to 4 µm wide, and subicular hyphae sparse, arranged parallel on the substrate, hyaline, moderately thick-walled, 4 to 6 µm wide; in both cases septate with simple septa (without clamp connections).
Cystidia of two types: very abundant lamprocystidia, thick-walled, heavily encrusted, 45 to 80 µm long and 9 to 12 µm wide; sharing space with scattered cylindrical to subcylindrical cystidia, slightly thick-walled, 1- to 3-septate, 100 to 150 µm long, with basal encrustations, slightly narrowed neck, and rounded apex.
Basidia cylindrical-clavate, 22 to 28 µm long, 5 to 7 µm wide, clampless at the base and four-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, with an eccentric apiculus at one end, 4.5 to 5.5 µm long, 2.5 to 3 µm wide, containing one or two large oil droplets or guttules inside, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
