Russula integra
(L.) Fr.

Study description
Species typical of montane conifers, with an applanate to umbilicate pileus 5 to 12 cm in diameter, vinaceous brown to olivaceous brown; yellow spore print; cylindrical whitish stipe; faintly fruity odor and mild, nutty taste.
Cuticle formed by filamentous hyphae, interwoven, abundantly branched, 3 to 5 µm wide, separated by gelification, with terminal elements acting as pileocystidia 4 to 6 µm wide with intracellular pigment inside, septate with simple septa (without clamp connections).
Cheilocystidia scarce, fusiform, 40 to 60 µm long and 7 to 13 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia of similar morphology, 50 to 110 µm long and 8 to 14 µm wide; both cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia contain encrusting pigment inside.
Basidia clavate, 45 to 70 µm long, 11 to 14 µm wide, simple-based and four-spored.
Spores subglobose to ellipsoidal, with warts up to 1.5 µm high, 7 to 10.5 µm long, 6.5 to 9.5 µm wide, ornamented with scattered isolated warts irregularly interconnected here and there, but without forming true ridges.
