Study description
A montane species with a convex to applanate pileus 3 to 8 cm in diameter, yellowish with greenish tints; dark cream spore print; cuticle peeling to more than two-thirds; without distinct odor and with an acrid taste.
Cuticle formed by filamentous hyphae 2.5 to 5 µm wide, interwoven, the uppermost separated by gelification, septate with simple septa. Pileocystidia scattered, large, 75 to 110 µm long and 9 to 12 µm wide.
Cheilocystidia fusiform, often with a short apical neck, 50 to 80 µm long and 8 to 13 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia very similar in morphology to cheilocystidia, 70 to 90 µm long and 9 to 14 µm wide.
Basidia clavate, 35 to 45 µm long, 8 to 11 µm wide, lacking basal clamp connections, four-spored.
Spores subglobose, with warts up to 0.7 µm high, 6.5 to 7.5 µm long, 6 to 7 µm wide, surface covered with warts joined in short ridges, forming an incomplete reticulum.
