(Pers.) Redhead

Study description
A parasite of mosses in very damp areas, with sessile basidiomes or with a short lateral stipe; pileus cupulate to flabelliform with development, 3 to 5 mm in diameter, white; lamellae sparse and very shallow; thin white context.
Hyphal system monomitic, with cylindrical hyphae arranged parallel, hyaline, 3 to 5.5 µm wide, septate with clamp connections at the septa.
Cystidia and other sterile hymenial elements absent.
Basidia clavate, 20 to 25 µm long, 6 to 8 µm wide, with basal clamp connections and predominantly four-spored.
Spores subglobose to lacrymoid (tear-drop to almond-shaped), with a prominent apiculus at one end, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled; in this study 5 to 6.5 µm long and 4 to 5.5 µm wide, slightly smaller than typically cited for the species (5–8 × 4.5–6 µm according to literature), containing oil droplets of varying size inside, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
