Rigidoporus vinctus
(Berk.) Ryvarden

Study description
General: Pantropical polypore with resupinate to effused-reflexed basidiomata that tend to crack with age, pore surface brown, pores round to slightly angular, minute (8-12 pores per mm), characterized by encrusted cystidia and minute basidia.
Hyphal system: Dimitic: skeletal hyphae thick-walled, 3-7 µm wide; generative hyphae thin-walled, hyaline, 2-5 µm wide, with simple septa (clamp connections absent).
Cystidia: Scattered, clavate, widened at apex, 30-70 x 8-18 µm, hyaline, very thick-walled, completely encrusted with crystals, particularly at the apex.
Basidia: Minute, clavate, 12-15 x 6-9 µm, base simple, 4-spored.
Spores: Subglobose to ovoid, hyaline, smooth, thin-walled, collapsing into slightly triangular shapes, 4.5-5.5 x 4-5 µm, inamyloid in Melzer's or IKI.
Herbarium voucher: JTP2361/25.
