Rigidoporus microporus
(Sw.) Overeem

Study description
A species typical of tropical climates, with pileate basidiomes up to 20 cm across, slightly velvety surface of pale orange-brown color, pale grey pores with 6 to 9 circular to angular pores per mm, tubes up to 1 cm long, and white to cream context.
Hyphal system pseudodimitic, with contextual hyphae very thick-walled resembling skeletal hyphae, 4 to 8 µm wide, septa difficult to observe; and thin- to slightly thick-walled generative hyphae 3 to 5 µm wide, septate with simple septa.
Cystidia absent, but with scattered fusiform cystidioles among the basidia, 20 to 25 µm long and 10 to 12 µm wide.
Basidia not observed; according to literature, clavate, 12 to 15 µm long, 7 to 10 µm wide, simple-based and four-spored.
Spores subglobose to ovoid, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 4 to 5.5 µm long, 3.5 to 4.5 µm wide, with a pointed apiculus at one end, containing a large oil droplet inside, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
