On decaying ground wood, resembling a poroid polypore, consisting of numerous cupulate fruit bodies 0.2 to 0.3 mm in diameter, in colonies of up to 1000 or more specimens, brown, with their entire outer surface covered in hyaline hairs, linked by a common subiculum.
Cuticle filamentous, formed by hyaline, thin-walled hyphae, with hair-like terminal elements 5 to 11 µm wide, coralloid in shape with coarse outgrowths, septate and clamped.
Cystidia cylindrical, with some protuberances, 15 to 30 µm long and 5 to 7.5 µm wide.
Basidia clavate, 15 to 25 µm long, 7 to 9 µm wide, with sterigmata up to 7 µm, and four-spored.
Spores globose to subglobose, smooth, hyaline, moderately thick-walled, 6 to 7.5 µm long, 5.5 to 6.5 µm wide, with a hyaline apiculus at one end, containing abundant oil droplets (guttules) inside, and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
