Study description
On plant debris or wood in advanced decay, with very thin resupinate basidiomes, hymenium consisting of minute short conical aculei 50 to 80 µm high and 30 to 50 µm wide, white to yellowish grey, soft and waxy in consistency.
Hyphal system monomitic, formed by filamentous generative hyphae difficult to dissociate, very slender, hyaline, septate with simple septa, without clamp connections.
Cystidioles abundant, subcylindrical to slightly lageniform, 15 to 25 µm long, 3 to 5.5 µm wide, simple-based.
Cystidia of two types: halocystidia cylindrical, slightly sinuous, 12 to 23 µm long, with an apical halo 10 to 22 µm in diameter; and astrocystidia cylindrical, slender, 10 to 25 µm long, 2 to 4 µm wide, crowned with a star-like cluster of numerous hyaline crystals.
Basidia cylindrical, slightly constricted in the middle, 16 to 20 µm long, 4 to 6 µm wide, simple-based and four-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, with a slightly pointed end bearing the apiculus, 4.5 to 6 µm long, 3 to 4 µm wide, with homomorphic content and inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
Herbarium material available: JTP1918/22.
