(P.D.Orton) Watling

Study description
On herbivore dung, especially horse or cow, with a conical to convex pileus, 1.5 to 3 cm in diameter, hygrophanous, honey brown to reddish brown, with adnate lamellae pale brown to violaceous brown with sporulation, and a cylindrical stipe, whitish to yellowish turning bluish upon handling.
Cuticle with a superficial layer of filamentous hyphae, 1.5 to 3 µm wide, embedded in a gelatinous matrix, widely spaced, septate and with clamp connections; beneath these, more compacted hyphae with yellowish-brown intracellular pigment, 4 to 9 µm wide, with inflations reaching up to 14 µm.
Caulocystidia present only at the apex of the stipe, cylindrical, sinuous, with an enlarged base, grouped in tufts, 25 to 40 µm long and 5 to 8 µm wide at the base.
Cheilocystidia lageniform, with an enlarged base, 25 to 40 µm long, 8 to 10 µm wide, with a long cylindrical and sinuous neck, sometimes bifurcated, 1.5 to 2 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia absent.
Basidia clavate, 20 to 30 µm long, 8 to 11 µm wide, with basal clamp connections and four-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, thick-walled, violaceous brown under the microscope, 11 to 15 µm long, 6.5 to 8 µm wide, with an inconspicuous apiculus at one end, and a central germ pore at the opposite end.
