Psathyrella obtusata
(Pers.) A.H.Sm.

Study description
Under broadleaved trees on humus, leaf litter, or directly on decaying wood, with a hemispherical pileus expanding to convex or flattened, 2 to 4 cm across, reddish-brown to ochraceous-brown, with radial translucency revealing the lamellae, and a cylindrical whitish stipe slightly enlarged at the base and covered with superficial fibrils.
Pileipellis composed of subglobose, ovoid to pyriform cells 30 to 60 µm long and 25 to 40 µm wide, containing pale brown intracellular pigment.
Cheilocystidia scarce, fusiform to utriform, 18 to 30 µm long and 7 to 12 µm wide, interspersed with abundant pyriform cells 15 to 18 µm long and 6 to 12 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia subcylindrical to utriform, 35 to 50 µm long and 9 to 15 µm wide.
Basidia clavate, 15 to 25 µm long, 8 to 10 µm wide, some with basal clamps, 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, moderately thick-walled, greyish-brown under the microscope, 7 to 9 µm long, 4 to 5.5 µm wide, with an inconspicuous hyaline apiculus at one pole and a distinct central germ pore at the other.
