Psathyrella inflatocystis
A.H.Sm.

Study description
A tropical species fairly common in the Dominican Republic, currently Coprinopsis inflatocystis according to Index Fungorum, growing on humus or decaying organic debris, with a conical to flattened pileus 2 to 3.5 cm across, cream-brown with faint pinkish tinges, darker at the centre, radially translucent-striate, and a cylindrical, hollow, fragile, exannulate whitish stipe.
Pileipellis composed of parallel cylindrical hyphae 3 to 8 µm wide with faint intracellular pigment, surmounted by globose, subglobose to pyriform cells 15 to 40 µm in diameter.
Cheilocystidia subcylindrical, utriform to clavate, 20 to 30 µm long and 9 to 15 µm wide.
Pleurocystidia scarce, of similar morphology and dimensions to cheilocystidia.
Basidia clavate, 18 to 25 µm long, 7 to 9 µm wide, predominantly 4-spored.
Spores ellipsoidal, smooth- and slightly thick-walled, very pale for the genus, yellowish-brown under the microscope, 6.5 to 8.5 µm long, 4.5 to 5.5 µm wide, with a diffuse, inconspicuous germ pore, non-reactive or at most faintly dextrinoid in Melzer's reagent.
