Microscopía de Pluteus chrysophaeus

Study description

Species typical of decaying broadleaved wood, with a convex to flattened pileus 1.5 to 4 cm in diameter, yellowish-brown to greenish-yellow, free white to pale yellow lamellae, a cylindrical, smooth, yellowish-grey stipe slightly widened at the base, and indistinct odour and taste.

Pileipellis cellular (a hymeniderm), formed by a superficial layer of subglobose, pyriform to clavate, sphaeropedunculate cells 25 to 50 µm long and 15 to 30 µm wide, the outermost containing brown intracellular pigment.

Cheilocystidia fusiform to slightly lageniform, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 30 to 45 µm long and 12 to 18 µm wide.

Pleurocystidia of similar morphology but larger, 40 to 60 µm long and 15 to 20 µm wide.

Basidia clavate, 20 to 25 µm long, 5 to 6 µm wide, simple-septate at the base, 4-spored.

Spores ovoid to ellipsoidal, hyaline, smooth- and moderately thick-walled, 5.5 to 7.5 µm long, 5 to 6.5 µm wide, with an inconspicuous apiculus at one pole, containing one or several guttules, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
