(Pers.) Zmitr. & Kovalenko

Study description
On decaying fallen logs and stumps of various broadleaved genera such as Fagus, Alnus, Salix, Populus, etc., with clustered basidiocarps having a lateral or eccentric stipe, a pileus 4 to 15 cm across with an undulating margin, pale chestnut-brown, a white to cream pore surface with 5 to 8 minute rounded to angular pores per mm, and a short stipe with a velvety black base.
Hyphal system dimitic: skeletal hyphae thick-walled, 2 to 6 µm wide, sparsely branched; generative hyphae thin-walled, hyaline, 2 to 4 µm wide, septate with simple septa (clampless).
Differentiated cystidia absent, but scattered fusiform cystidioles 15 to 20 µm long and 5 to 7 µm wide are present.
Basidia clavate, 20 to 30 µm long, 6 to 8 µm wide, simple-septate at the base, 4-spored.
Few spores obtained in the present study: ellipsoidal to cylindrical, smooth, hyaline, thin-walled, 7 to 8 µm long, 3 to 4 µm wide, containing guttules, inamyloid in Melzer's reagent.
